You’ve got the team together, you’re away from the usual daily distractions of business, so why not make the most of the opportunity and let us book some team building activities for you.
If you have a confernece coming up, call us today to talk to one of our consultants about activity options both onsite and off. Brackenridge has been in Martinborough for over 18 years and we work with local operators to deliver an array of activities that will assist the development of team work, inspire, connect and re-invigorate existing teams.
Dark Sky Experience
A magical and awe inspiring night under the evening sky at Brackenridge Country Retreat and Spa. Join Becky Bateman, an experienced astronomy presenter, under the stars for a night to remember. Becky will guide you through the heavens, picking out constellations, fascinating stars, beautiful deep sky objects and magnificent planets. She will demonstrate her passion for astronomy by leading you through celestial navigation, Māori starlore and up to date scientific theories, ensuring you don’t just have a wonderful evening but also learn something new in the process.
The evening includes:
A 25-30 minute presentation on Astronomy 101, what you need to know, the basic science behind astronomy and what we will be looking at during the evening.
A guided hour stargazing outside on the verandah or in the garden, using a telescope to get clearer views of the planets (which planets depends on the time of year), finding the Southern Cross and how to find South, the signs of the Zodiac, the Moon (depending on the time of the month) and deep sky objects like the Milky Way Galaxy, nearby Galaxies the Magellanic Clouds and over the Summer months, the stunning star cluster of Matariki (Pleiades).

Gavin Morison Leadership Courses : Who’s Leading Who
Book a Leadership Course with Gavin Morison as part of your conference or spend some time with Gavin and book your accommodation at Brackenridge.
Providing a safe environment to learn in, Gavin uses mostly his horses to teach groups leadership skills through horsemanship. Using “true horsemanship through feel” Morison teaches the path of least resistance with the aim of reaching our human potential.
For many this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to explore the unique relationship between horse and man, often effecting profound growth for those whom he teaches.
These Leadership Courses are ideal for staff groups from Corporates to Government Agencies wanting to experience personal growth, initiating and building trust and learning leadership qualities – which work. There is no horse riding involved in this and courses vary to suit the group.
1 Day Leadership Course
9.30 – 4.30pm 5 – 12 (max 12) people
Learning one on one and in a small group situation to understand, react correctly, and manage personal responses to requests. Previous experience of horses is not necessary to benefit from these life lessons in controlling your personal thoughts and actions. Morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch is provided.
2 Day Leadership Course
9.30 – 4.30pm Max 8 people
More is gained from the experience when we are given the opportunity to talk together about what we are learning and to shape our approach to the following day. We all need time to consider what is being put to us about ourselves and to initiate change in our responses. Morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch is provided.
Half Day Leadership Course
Duration approx 3 hours. Max 8 people
These short `hands on` courses are mini leadership courses using an initiation into the world of horsemanship to explore leadership principles.
Duration approx 1.5 hours – Minimum 15 people
An opportunity to provide a short session for large groups of up to 30 people, taking them through the principles and philosophy of ancient horsemanship and how this relates to leadership.
